"Altered Visions: The Dan Rhema Story"
a near-death experience documentary video

"The Day The Animals Lost Their Colors"

Dan Rhema came to be a visionary artist through a near-death experience caused by his contracting Dengue Fever (also known as Break Bone Fever) and Spinal Meningitis, while working as an international relief worker in Mexico in 1991. During his recuperation from the multiple brain infections, Dan began creating masks, collages, sculptures, and paintings from "found" objects to match the surrealistic visions of his dreams. "Found" art is where you collect other people's "junk" - discarded furniture, metal fixtures, electric wiring - to make into visionary assemblages. A lot of the things I use are from people who have died. They are getting a second chance to be what I think is important. Each piece is unique." "Altered Visions: The Dan Rhema Story" is the name of a video documentary that focuses on what happened to him and the art that emerged. The video is readily available, as are pieces of his work. In quire (refer to Link page for his website).

"The Day The Animals Lost Their Colors" is a collaboration of talented people who produced the book for the purpose of using it in school-based educational programs held throughout the country, and to increase awareness of brain injuries, brain injury prevention, and the work of The Brain Injury Association of Kentucky.

"INERSON"
Be The Sound

"While giving my Inerson workshops over the last 10 years, I have seen powerful catharses and profound transformations in people. Some have commented that the workshop opens a door within them that not only shuts itself after they’ve crossed its threshold, but disappears behind, leading them to follow the call towards their soul within the sound. And once they have surrendered to the sound's resonance, they find the courage and determination to travel the path of profound transformation unfolding in front of them, a labyrinth of choices and consequences.

What I share with you through Inerson is a way to connect yourself, to attune your whole being to the sound current. Thirty years ago, I didn’t know what to expect from the sound, except that there was a direction, a call to follow. I was drawn towards that call. Over my years of listening, I’ve found a way to probe into the sound, to access and experience sacred inner realms, allowing myself to be touched by the unknown, to be surprised by the sound. The music, or should I rather say, the sound I heard in my NDE, and which is now an integral part of my life, is the expression of consciousness, the manifestation of the Void in the Light, the Sound Current, the breath of the Universe, the breath of God."

Gilles Bédard is specialist in contemplative music. From 1982 to 1997, he worked as journalist, concert, radio and record producer. His knowledge and expertise, combined with the thoroughness of his research, have made him Canada's New Age music specialist and one of the genre's most active proponents on the international scene. Through the years, Gilles has developed a unique way of working with music. After years of research and experimentation, he has created Inerson, a set of practices that enable people to develop their potential through music. His study of the psycho-spiritual dimension of death and dying has taught him that the sacredness of life is found in the simplest things of our everyday lives. Since 1990, Gilles has worked as counsellor for near-death experiencers and has given individual and group workshops and seminars.

Feel free to contact Gilles about his workshops, or any thoughts or needs you have concerning contemplative music.

The Medicine of the New Millennium

People who have experienced near death and other transformative states, come back suddenly quite sensitive to pharmaceutical medication. They are often forced to take children's doses, or to turn to alternative sources like herbs, homeopathy, vitamin/mineral therapy, and so forth, for their health care. Of these, homeopathy is the most "foreign" to the average person - which is unfortunate considering how effective and powerful it is.

Homeopathic Educational Services is the best clearing house of information on homeopathy I know. When you contact them, ask for their catalogue, 'Discover Homeopathy," and especially inquire about Dana Ullman's book, "DISCOVERING HOMEOPATHY," which is a wonderful primer for beginners.

Homeopathy is sometimes called "The Royal Medicine" because England's Royal Family has used these medications since the 1830s, and so have many other famous people. Homeopathic medicines work so effectively because they work WITH, rather than AGAINST the body's immune system. You do have to educate yourself, though, in order to use homeopathy properly. I have. So can you. Inquire.

"Veriditas - The World-Wide Labyrinth Project"

My book, "FUTURE MEMORY," is patterned after a labyrinth. Walking or reading one's way through a labyrinth duplicates how the bodymind functions, and brings one to the next highest level of being. In other words, labyrinths are healers, not mazes. And they are sacred tools for bypassing the mind and reaching inward in a quest to cleanse the self and rediscover spiritual truth.

Reverent Dr Lauren Artress of Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, and author of "WALKING A SACRED PATH," has initiated The World-Wide Labyrinth Project called "Veriditas." Veriditas is committed to reintroducing the labyrinth in its many forms as a tool for spiritual development. To this end, the organization has a quarterly magazine, products and books, instructions on how to make your own, and an active schedule of talks and workshops across the world to help people discover how powerful labyrinths are.

A Center for Nature Research

Perelandra consists of forty-five acres of open fields and woods in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. It is both a home to Machaelle Small Wright and Clarence Wright, and a nature research center. The research end is Machaelle's as she seeks to develop a co-creative relationship with nature intelligences - "angels" and "fairies" (i.e., devas and nature spirits). The main focus is centered around the 100-foot-diameter garden that functions as a laboratory. In doing this, she has discovered a way to garden that works in partnership with nature's own and that emphasizes balance and teamwork. The "co-creative science" that has resulted has passed with flying colors all requirements of double-blind studies and scientific replication, much to the amazement of all, and with unbelievable performance - even in droughts. Refer to article on Perelandra in this site, and on the Links page, for more information. Ask for the "Perelandra Catalog" when you contact them. You will be amazed at what they carry and how actively they address healing issues, if a person seeks help from nature.
